Contrary to common belief, in accordance with the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, no variety of bee is protected.
It is unethical and unacceptable for honey bees to be terminated, except by a bee keeper for colony management reasons.

If a honey bee colony has swarmed onto your property or garden please contact https://www.bbka.org.uk/find-a-local-swarm-collector to find a honey bee collector near you. Stay calm, stay inside, advise neighbours accordingly, exclude all persons and pets from the area until a professional bee keeper arrives to deal with the swarm. Generally speaking, honey bees by nature are passive/friendly and should not harm you. However, when swarming, the colony is lost and unsettled and individuals have the potential to sting.

In the event honey bees entering the fabrication of your home, eves of the roof or chimney, please google, 'humane bee removal near me'. This is a specialist service, a cherry picker or scaffolding might be required.

It is illegal for any person to destroy honey bees using pesticide!

Today's pesticides are not licensed for use on honey bees, any pest controller or pest control company offering a 'quick fix' to destroy bees would be, 'breaking the law'. Importantly, being complicit with this illegal act, would mean, you too are, 'breaking the law'.

In short, let's not kill honey bees!

This is one of the most frequent asked questions.
To avoid the risk of being stung and the dangers of Anaphylaxis  We strongly advise, always use a professional pest control company to deal with your wasp nest.
An accredited pest controller will wear the correct PPE and will use professional equipment to deal with the problem.

Please contact https://www.essexwaspcontrol.co.uk/ for professional help.

If you have tried to terminate a wasp nest yourself, it's quite common for the wasp problem to become much worse. By failing to terminate the nest, you change the behaviour of the wasps, it forces them to adapt and overcome. A very common example is, a wasp nest nest in a wall cavity - the obvious solution, to block wasp entry points with mastic/filler to stop them getting in. By doing so, you believe this kills the nest - WRONG!! This can force the wasps inside a building. Why? They cannot gain access externally and the new external points of entry become the inside of a building. As far as the wasps are concerned their nest must survive at all costs.

In this kind of situation, where individuals have 'had a go' themselves, we will always do our best to terminate a wasp nest, but cannot guarantee our work first time- if an additional call out is required, this is chargeable.

We do not offer a pest control service where another pest control company has failed to terminate your wasp nest.
In this situation, we would urge you to get the said pest control company to return and make good.
